Meet our Arabic and Quran teachers.
Chief Executive Officer
Shaykh Mahmoud Al-Assal, an Egyptian graduate of Al-Azhar’s Alexandria Institute of Qirāʾāt, holds numerous Qur’anic Ijāzāt and advanced certifications in Tajwīd and the Ten Qirāʾāt. With over 13 years of teaching experience, including instruction for non-Arabic speakers, he is the Director and Co-Founder of Shaykhi Academy, where he teaches advanced Qur’anic studies and Arabic reading.
Managing Director
Mr. Luqman El-Kasabany, Managing Director of Shaykhi Academy, is a native Egyptian Arabic speaker, Hafiz of the Qur’an with multiple Ijazat, and an experienced teacher of Tajweed, Arabic, and Islamic sciences. An Al-Azhar graduate, he authored the academy’s curriculum Al-Menhaj and also focuses on self-development, child education, and professional training. At 26, he brings youthful energy that resonates with his students.
Senior Qur’an Teacher
Mr. Ahmed Ramadan is a senior Qur’an teacher and professional translator with a bachelor’s in Islamic Studies in English from Al-Azhar University. With over three years of teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies to non-native speakers and translating Islamic and legal texts, he combines academic expertise with practical experience. A memorizer of the Qur’an and holder of multiple ijazāt, he has also served five years as an imam, enriching his students’ learning with his deep Qur’anic knowledge.
Egyptian Qur’an teacher
Shaykh Ahmed Hassan Saber, an Egyptian native, is a pharmacy graduate from Al-Azhar University, a Hafiz, and holds Ijazat in Qur’anic recitation. He teaches Tajweed and Arabic reading, including to non-native speakers.
Al-Azhar–educated Islamic studies teacher
Mr. Mahmoud Elsaid is an Al-Azhar graduate and Qur’an memorizor pursuing his Ijazah, with over two years of teaching experience. Holding diplomas in education, he effectively adapts his lessons in Qur’an and Islamic studies for students of all ages.

Abdullah Moftah is an Egyptian Qur’an teacher, imam, and preacher with a degree in Islamic Studies in English from Al-Azhar University and a license in ‘Asim Barawiyyah recitation.
Qur’an teacher
Mr. Nour Eddin Mahmoud, an Egyptian student at Al-Azhar University, memorized the Qur’an at 13 and holds multiple Ijazahs in Qur’an and Hadith. Teaching since 2021, he instructs both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers, simplifying Islamic teachings and using interactive methods to engage students, especially children.

Mr. Saif Al-Metwaly is an Egyptian medical student and multilingual instructor who teaches Qur’an and Islamic studies to non-Arabic speakers using clear methods and has experience with various institutions.
Mrs. Asmaa Abdul Rahman is an experienced Qur’an and Tajweed teacher with over ten years of expertise, an Al-Azhar education, and an Ijazah in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim. She teaches children and women, simplifies Tajweed for accurate recitation, and is known for her motivating and engaging teaching approach.
Ms. Alaa Elbakry is an Arabic language graduate and Qur’an teacher with Tajweed certification, online teaching experience, involvement in charitable work, and two published books.

Ms. Kholoud Hamada is an experienced Qur’an and Arabic teacher from Egypt, fluent in Arabic and English, with strong expertise in Tajweed. She has over three years of teaching experience, is passionate about engaging students of all ages, and is currently pursuing advanced Qur’anic certification.

Asmaa Gohar is an experienced and certified Arabic and Qur’an teacher from Egypt with over six years of experience teaching non-native speakers. She uses interactive, student-centered methods and tailors her lessons to suit individual learning goals.
